Head of Information of Kodam (Kapendam) XVII / Cenderawasih Lieutenant Colonel Inf Candra Kurniawan, S.E., M.M when confirmed, Saturday (29/6/2024) said that ahead of the 2024 Regional Election there are still provocative issues that are deliberately spread by the OPM to create an atmosphere that is not conducive, including the invitation from the OPM to take part in the West Papua Independence Proclamation action July 1, 2024.
"The OPM issues and invitations are currently circulating through leaflets, even on Social Media (Medsos) with the aim of disrupting the course of Development, including damaging the Peaceful Election declaration which is increasingly massively voiced by all levels of society in the Land of Papua," said Kapendam.
"It is hoped that the community will remain calm and continue their activities, and not be affected by the invitation of provocative actions from the OPM because basically the OPM wants a situation that is not conducive, development does not work, which in the end the people suffer as victims," concluded Kapendam.
